Flexible high-resolution thin micropolarizers for imaging polarimetry

More durable (with high impact force), lighter, and more compact flexible azo dye micropolarizers are attractive candidates for low-cost, simple polarization imaging systems. The liquid crystal polymer (LCP), as an emerging material developed by photo-alignment technology, is a potential organizing the long-range ordered structure of dyes. However, little research has been done on LCP aligned This paper points out solves key problem that restricts fabrication high-precision arrays in guest (azo dye)-host (LCP) systems: doping dyes leads to disorder during curing. After solving problem, relationship between thickness extinction ratio polarizing film was investigated, which effectively improved ratio. Alignment molecules range 2 µm (0°–180°) (0°, 45°, 90°, -45°) with 8 × pixel pitch achieved laser direct writing technology. bending cycle test demonstrates mechanical stability ultrathin polarizer. patterned polarizer robust chemical stabilities provides way capture light highly integrated advanced optoelectronic devices.
